Scar Camouflage

Scar camouflage is precisely that. A cosmetic tattoo service that includes camouflaging and blending your natural skin tone over areas of hypopigmentation, or areas that lack color caused by injury to the skin. These tattoos are completely customized for each client to ensure natural-looking and undetectable results.

The number of sessions required varies with each client, but typically takes 2-3 sessions at the very minimum. Generally, clients should expect more sessions depending on the severity of the scar tissue and level of discoloration.

Scar Inkless Camouflage

Inkless Camouflage, or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is the use of micro-channeling and stem cell serums to actively release and stimulate traumatized scar tissue, essentially promoting your body to heal those scarred areas, rather than cover with tattoo pigments. If the scar could also benefit from Scar Camouflaging, this process is used before Scar Camouflaging to flatten and soften the texture of the scar tissue. In some cases it can also stimulate a person’s natural pigmentation, no longer needing to camouflage. You may have heard the term medical Micro-Needling, this is very similar but targets specific areas to break down the fibrous tissue allowing it to soften and release. This method also promotes healing where new melanocytes are formed, where the tissue experienced loss of color.

  • This service is ideal for stretch marks, acne scars, piercing scars, self harm scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and more!

  • This process takes multiple procedures over time for best results, with a minimum of 6 weeks in between sessions.

FAQs

  • Consultations are required before determining the best option, this is where we’ll assess and discuss any questions or concerns you might have as well.

  • Generally, it's recommended one full year of healing from the time of injury. The scar must be lighter than your skin tone, and no longer have any pink, red or purple coloring. Due to the trauma, the skin tissue can be damaged if it is worked on too soon.

  • Stretchmarks, Healed Surgical Scars, Acne & Piercing Scars, Self Harm Scars, Fine lines & Wrinkles, Burn Scars, Age Spot Removals, Dog Bites, C-Sections & Mommy Makeover Scars.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to camouflage birthmarks or other hyperpigmented skin (patches of skin which are abnormally darker than the surrounding skin) due to medical concerns. Areas with keloid scars are also not recommended.

  • There is a level of discomfort associated, like any tattoo, but most clients are pleasantly surprised with how tolerable the session is with Primary & Secondary numbing agents applied. Some scars can be hyper-sensitive, but most scars have less feeling than normal tissue, making the treatments easier!

  • Aftercare instructions will be given to you at the time of your appointment, and includes instructions on how to keep it clean and recommended products to use.

Avoid scheduling your tattoo two weeks prior to these activities to avoid unsavory conditions for healing: traveling, camping, swimming, working out, tanning, or circumstances that involve sun, water, dirt or sweat.
